Alone in the Ashes is the fifth book in the Ashes series by William W. Johnstone . In this book, General Ben Raines is cut off from the Southern United States of America (SUSA) through a self imposed exile and he fights his way across the country destroying warlords and other gangs of punks. General Raines makes a couple of promises in this book that he will need to keep later.
