The Last Rebel: Survivor by William W. Johnstone takes place after the last Ashes book and after the death of General Ben Raines. Jim LaDoux is the heir apparent to all that is good and right in the world. General Raines has provided LaDoux with the locations of many caches of supplies and equipment and LaDoux will need to use it and all of his wits to live in the apocalyptic United States. I enjoyed this book and was glad to see it after the end of the Ashes series.
