If you do not know, Tony Hillerman writes mysteries that are based on the Southwest and specifically regarding the Navaho nation. In Skeleton Man , Joe Leaphorn, a former Navajo police officer comes out of retirement to freelance and try to track down a briefcase full of gems that was lost in a 1950s plane crash. Jim Chee who still remains a Navajo police officer makes an appearance or two. My favorite Tony Hillerman books are the ones in which both Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee appear. If you like mysteries or Tony Hillerman , this is a good book. Additional Note: When writing this book review, I learned that Tony Hillerman passed away in October 2008. He will be missed.
