Griffin.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this new series.  It is always daunting to me when my books are more than 500 pages.  I like to start and finish and this one was a little long, but it was worth it.

A leased Boeing 727 goes missing in Africa and it is believed to be hijacked.  The United States intelligence agencies cannot agree on what happened to the plane.  With the help of a Russian arms trader (with ties to the CIA), Charley Castillo, the assistant to the Secretary of Homeland Security, uses resources that are outside the box to track the plane.  This book had some great comedic interplay between the characters.  It is especially amusing when Charley, who is also a Major, “suggests” generals take certain actions.  Is he a Major giving orders to Generals?  Is he acting on behalf of the Secretary of Homeland Security or even the President?
