Johnstone with J. A. Johnstone.  In this book, Matt Jensen grants a dying friend, Lee Marcus’, wish to take a bankroll to Marcus’ brother in St. Louis.  Jensen must head to the Arizona Territory when Marcus’ brother has moved.  During his travels tracking down Marcus, Matt runs into a rich Easterner, Jay Peerless Bixby, and his wife, Cynthia Bixby, who are land prospectors.  Cynthia is grabbed by Apaches and Matt must get her back before they kill her.  Oh and during all of this, Matt has to take out Lee Marcus’ killer, Pogue Willis.

Johnstone with J. A. Johnstone.  In this book, Matt Jensen, is in the right place at the right time to help catch outlaws who are bank robbers, train robbers, murders and kidnappers.  Matt also meets Layne McKenzie the governor of Colorado’s niece.  I’m predicting that this is the beginning of a relationship that will last many years.

Johnstone with J. A. Johnstone is a series about Smoke Jensen’s adopted son, Matt Jensen.  This is interesting because as far as I know, Matt Jensen appeared after William W. Johnstone’s death, but the books are written in the same spirit as the original Last Mountain Man Series.
